The subjective interpretation of our surroundings implies a fictitious narrative, understood only through the context we can gather in the moment.
My work explores this construction of narrative, the cutting, pasting and obscuring of context and the relationship we have with objects, space and imagery. It seeks to employ the available empathy in figurative photography within the ambiguity of abstract painting.

Meaning is not inherent in things themselves, it is constructed upon their consumption. Rigorously avoiding a prescriptive approach to conveying information my work seeks to construct a framework on which to create or discover meaning, a language of which one can give thought to their emotions, memories and self.
